Project Description

Supervision

I am an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor. Supervision from me counts toward your licensure as a LMFT and/or LPC.

My goal as your supervisor is to help you become the best possible therapist and help you achieve licensure. Our time together will be a mix of direction and collaboration. I want our relationship to be one of trust, meaning that I will make every effort not to micromanage you because I expect you to be honest with me about your struggles, mistakes, or concerns.

The primary purpose of supervision is to help the Supervisee to develop perspective and to learn flexible, curious openness as a clinician. Supervisees would learn to develop and maintain relationships with peers and mentors who would keep their perspective in check and encourage a life-long interest in growing clinically and ethically as a therapist.

I expect supervisees to develop:

  1. A strong sense of ethics
  2. Appropriate boundaries with clients
  3. Effective note taking and record keeping skills
  4. Self-reflection and awareness
  5. Adequate self-care
  6. Desire for continued growth and development to ensure they provide quality care and do not harm to clients or themselves in the process.

I will do this by providing a safe place for supervisees to bring their mistakes, countertransference, and struggles without judgement or condemnation, and to work through those things together.

If you are interested in having me as your supervisor, we’ll schedule a 15-20 interview to ensure we are a good fit for one another.
